Question by { s i l v e r } ιn ωondeяâ„"αnd: Sex, drinking, swearing and vomitting in my English original writing coursework - is this a bad idea?

I have discussions of sex, alcohol, a girl walking in on her boyfriend half-naked with another girl, swearing (mostly just F**k) and vomitting (described as lightly as possible, because to be honest I don't enjoy writing about vomit) in my English Original Writing coursework. It's in there, because I want to give a sense of real life experiences in my coursework and these are the kinds of things my peers and I have experienced. Is this okay, or is it a bad idea?

Well, if you are college level, it should be okay, as long as your teacher can tell there is a reason for it. Would the people you are writing about realistically act this way, or do you just want an excuse to curse in schoolwork, etc. Trust me, your teacher will be able to tell the difference if they are any good at all. I've had High School teachers okay, because that was how my established characters would react in the situation I placed them in.
